Cavity wall insulation
Learn all about MacBrookGas’ cavity wall insulation
All about cavity wall insulation
About a third of all the heat lost in an uninsulated home escapes through the walls. By properly insulating cavity walls, you will save energy and cut costs off your heating bill.
In general, houses built from the 1990s onwards have wall insulation to keep the heat in, but if your house is older than that, it may not have any wall insulation at all.
What do we provide?
Qualifications
Our Installation Teams are trained and equipped to undertake all essential pre-installation checks to ensure compliance with the PAS 2030:2019 process. This sets a framework for the installation, handover and commissioning of high-quality retrofit works across both public and private sector housing markets.
We are also a BBA Approved installer (visit www.bbacerts.co.uk for more info) which demonstrates that we operate to high standards, enhancing our reputation and making us a preferred choice for manufacturers of the products we work with.
Installation quality
On each property, our team leader is responsible for ensuring that the cavity wall insulation product installed is the one that has been agreed with you, with no substitutions allowed. It is also critical to a successful installation that we ensure that our cavity filling machines are working order and that injection holes are drilled to the approved diameter, location and pattern.
We ensure that injection is carried out so as to achieve complete filling and prevent the formation of voids. All drill holes, and any other consequential damage, is then filled with appropriate materials and made good. We also ensure that no ventilation channels have been blocked using accepted methods of verification (eg: smoke test). Finally, we check that areas prone to thermal bridging or leakage of insultation materials are carefully inspected before completion.
Guarantee
MacBrookGas provides a 25-year Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG) for each property. This is provided under the Quality Mark Protection scheme (formerly known as GDGC).
This guarantee is designed to provide financial protection to homeowners, in the event that an installer ceases to trade and is unable to honour their written guarantee. It provides homeowners with peace of mind is a measure of trust in the installer.
MacBrookGas Ltd provides its own written workmanship guarantee. This outlines a guarantee period, during which the we will return and fix any faults resulting from faulty workmanship. If anything should happen to our company during this period, the insurance backed guarantee comes into effect and takes over the guarantee period, providing an extra layer of financial protection.
